The lines of inquiry indicate Mueller`s team is reaching beyond the campaign to explore how the Russians might have sought to influence Trump at a time when he was discussing deals in Moscow and contemplating a presidential run. Mueller was appointed to investigate Russian meddling in the 2016 campaign. The President claims that any investigation of his family`s finances would be a breach of the special counsel`s mandate. Two of the sources said they do not know from the questions asked whether Mueller has concrete evidence to indicate wrongdoing. "You ask everything even if you don`t think i`s credible," one of the sources said, adding, "the allegations are out there, and it was checking the box." The special counsel`s office, an attorney for the President and the Trump Organization all declined to comment for this story.

The tiles are said to be used to construct facilities where chemical weapons are produced. Five shipments were sent to Syria via a Chinese trading firm during late 2016 and early 2017, the Wall Street Journal says. They are allegedly part of dozens of shipments over several years. The Scientific Studies and Research Center (SSRC) - a Syrian government agency - is said to have paid North Korea via a number of front companies, the newspaper reports.

Offer Details: জীবন বাঁচাতে বাংলাদেশে আশ্রয় নেওয়া রোহিঙ্গা শিশুরা ভালো নেই। আশ্রয়শিবিরগুলোতে তারা ভয় আর হতাশায় ডুবে আছে। মিয়ানমারে নির্যাতন থেকে তারা হয়তো মুক্তি পেয়েছে। কিন্তু বাংলাদেশে যেখানে তারা আশ্রয় নিয়েছে, সেখানে বন্য হাতি, সাপের কামড় এবং রাতের বেলায় মানব পাচারের ভয় থেকে মুক্তি পাচ্ছে না শিশুরা। তাদের শৈশব ছিন্ন ভিন্ন হয়ে যাচ্ছে। রোহিঙ্গা সংকটের ছয় মাস পেরিয়ে যাওয়ার পর বাংলাদেশে রোহিঙ্গা শিশুরা কেমন আছে তা নিয়ে আন্তর্জাতিক সংস্থা প্ল্যান ইন্টারন্যাশনাল, সেভ দ্য চিলড্রেন এবং ওয়ার্ল্ড ভিশনের যৌথ গবেষণায় এমন চিত্র উঠে এসেছে। ‘ছিন্নভিন্ন শৈশব: বাংলাদেশে রোহিঙ্গা শিশুদের কথা’ শীর্ষক ওই গবেষণা প্রতিবেদনটি গতকাল রোববার রাজধানীর স্পেক্ট্রা কনভেনশন সেন্টারে এক অনুষ্ঠানে তুলে ধরা হয়। এ গবেষণা প্রতিবেদনের মূল বিষয়বস্তু উপস্থাপন করেন সেভ দ্য চিলড্রেনের প্রকল্প উন্নয়ন পরিচালক রিফাত বিন সাত্তার। তিনি প্রতিবেদনে রোহিঙ্গা শিশুদের মিয়ানমার থেকে পালিয়ে আসার সময় দেখা বর্বর হত্যাযজ্ঞ, বাবা-মা হত্যা, ধর্ষণ, বাড়িঘর পুড়িয়ে দেওয়ার ভয়ানক অভিজ্ঞতার কথা তুলে ধরেন। তিনি জানান, গবেষকদের সঙ্গে কথা বলতে গিয়ে রোহিঙ্গা শিশুরা শিবিরে শৌচাগার ব্যবহারের সময় ঘণ্টার পর ঘণ্টা অপেক্ষা করার কথা উল্লেখ করেন। নারী-শিশুরা পুরুষদের কাছ থেকে হয়রানির শিকার হওয়ার অভিজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করেন। বাঁশ ও পলিথিনের তৈরি তাঁবুতে বিভিন্ন সময় চোরের উপদ্রব এবং তাঁবুতে থাকা শেষ সম্বলগুলো হারানোর কথা উল্লেখ করে শিশুরা। গবেষণা প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয়, অধিকাংশ শিশুই জঙ্গলে কাঠ সংগ্রহের তিক্ত অভিজ্ঞতার কথা তুলে ধরে। বনরক্ষীরা তাদের অনেক সময় লাঠি দিয়ে আক্রমণ করে, অনেকে শারীরিক লাঞ্ছনার শিকার হয়; পাশাপাশি বন্য হাতি আর সাপের ভয় নিত্যদিনের সঙ্গী। জ্বালানি কাঠ সংগ্রহ করতে গিয়ে কেউ কেউ ধর্ষণের শিকার হয়েছে বলে অভিযোগ পাওয়া গেছে। গত বছরের আগস্ট মাস থেকে এখন পর্যন্ত আটটি শিশু পাচারের বিষয়ে তথ্য পাওয়া গেছে বলে গবেষণা প্রতিবেদন উল্লেখ করা হয়। গবেষণায় অংশ নেওয়া ২০০ রোহিঙ্গা ও স্থানীয় শিশু এবং ৪০ জন শিশুর মায়েদের জিজ্ঞেস করা হয়েছিল ক্যাম্পে শিশুদের নিয়ে উদ্বেগের সবচেয়ে বড় কারণ কোনটি? উত্তরে তাঁরা রান্নার জন্য কাঠ সংগ্রহ, স্বল্প পরিসরে থাকার জায়গা এবং শিক্ষার সুযোগের অভাবকেই বড় ধরনের সমস্যা হিসেবে চিহ্নিত করেন। অনুষ্ঠানে পররাষ্ট্র প্রতিমন্ত্রী শাহরিয়ার আলম প্রধান অতিথির বক্তৃতায় বলেন, রোহিঙ্গারা যখন বাংলাদেশে আসা শুরু করে, তখন তাদের আশ্রয় দেওয়া ও খাদ্যের সংস্থান করা ছিল প্রধান কাজ। এরপর পর্যায়ক্রমে তাদের শৌচাগারসহ অন্যান্য সুবিধা দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করা হচ্ছে। বাংলাদেশে আশ্রয় নেওয়া রোহিঙ্গাদের ছয় লাখই শিশু। এদের মধ্যে ২৬ হাজার শিশুর বাবা অথবা মা মারা গেছে। সাত হাজার শিশুর বাবা-মা দুজনই নেই। তারা ধারাবাহিকভাবে বিষণ্নতার মধ্যে আছে। এদের জন্য শুধু বাংলাদেশ একা নয়, বিশ্ববাসীর সবার দায়িত্ব আছে। শিবিরে অবস্থানরত শিশুরা মানসিকভাবে বিপর্যস্ত এবং নাজুক বলে উল্লেখ করেন সেভ দ্য চিলড্রেন বাংলাদেশের কান্ট্রি ডিরেক্টর মার্ক পিয়ার্স। তিনি এসব শিশুর সহযোগিতা ও নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করতে সবাইকে একযোগে কাজ করার আহ্বান জানান। প্ল্যান ইন্টারন্যাশনাল বাংলাদেশের কান্ট্রি ডিরেক্টর অরলা মারফি বলেন, রোহিঙ্গা শিশুরা তাদের নিজস্ব পরিসর থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে এমন একটি পরিবেশে খাপ খাওয়ানোর চেষ্টা করছে, যেখানে তাদের ঘনিষ্ঠ প্রতিবেশী, বন্ধুবান্ধব, নিরাপদ খেলার জায়গা নেই। ওয়ার্ল্ড ভিশন বাংলাদেশের কান্ট্রি ডিরেক্টর ফ্রেড উইটিভেন মনে করেন, ‘ভয়হীন এমন একটা পরিবেশে শিশুদের বেড়ে ওঠার কথা, যেখানে সবাই তাদের অত্যন্ত ভালোবাসা, আদর-যত্ন দিয়ে পরিপূর্ণ বিকাশে সহায়তা করবে। কিন্তু এর পরিবর্তে কক্সবাজার রোহিঙ্গা শিবিরে তাদের জীবন ব্যবস্থা আমাদের বিচলিত করে। পিলখানা হত্যাযজ্ঞের নয় বছর শ্রদ্ধা, ভালোবাসায় সেনাদের স্মরণ নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক, ঢাকা ফুল, চোখের পানি আর ভালোবাসায় স্মরণ করা হলো পিলখানায় শাহাদত বরণ করা সেনা কর্মকর্তাদের। গতকাল রোববার রাজধানীর বনানীতে সামরিক কবরস্থানে শহীদদের কবরে শ্রদ্ধা জানাতে এসেছিলেন স্বজন, সহকর্মী ও সরকারের উচ্চপদস্থ কর্মকর্তারা। ২০০৯ সালের ২৫ ও ২৬ ফেব্রুয়ারি পিলখানায় বিডিআরের (বর্তমানে বিজিবি) বিদ্রোহী জওয়ানেরা নৃশংসভাবে হত্যা করেন ৫৭ সেনা কর্মকর্তাসহ ৭৪ জনকে। গতকাল ছিল ওই রক্তাক্ত অধ্যায়ের নবম বার্ষিকী। এ উপলক্ষে গতকাল সকাল ৯টায় বনানীর সামরিক কবরস্থানে শহীদদের কবরে পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণ করেন রাষ্ট্রপতির পক্ষে রাষ্ট্রপতির সহকারী সামরিক সচিব ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল কাজী ইফতেখার-উল-আলম। এরপর প্রধানমন্ত্রীর পক্ষে সামরিক সচিব মেজর জেনারেল মিয়া মোহাম্মদ জয়নুল আবেদীন, স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী আসাদুজ্জামান খান, এরপর সম্মিলিতভাবে সেনাবাহিনীর প্রধান জেনারেল আবু বেলাল মোহাম্মদ শফিউল হক, নৌবাহিনীর প্রধান এডমিরাল নিজামউদ্দিন আহমেদ ও বিমানবাহিনীর প্রধান এয়ার চিফ মার্শাল আবু এসরার পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণ করেন। বিজিবির মহাপরিচালক মেজর জেনারেল আবুল হোসেন, স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের জননিরাপত্তা বিভাগের সচিব মোস্তাফা কামাল উদ্দীন শহীদদের কবরে শ্রদ্ধা জানান। সেখানে শহীদদের প্রতি সম্মান প্রদর্শনের জন্য এক মিনিট নীরবতা পালন করা হয়। এ সময় সশস্ত্র বাহিনীর সদস্যরা স্যালুট দেন। পরে শহীদদের আত্মার মাগফিরাত কামনা করে দোয়া অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। অন্যদের মধ্যে জাতীয় পার্টির চেয়ারম্যান এইচ এম এরশাদ, বিএনপির নেতা মাহবুবুর রহমান, আলতাফ হোসেন চৌধুরী, হাফিজ উদ্দিন আহমেদ, কল্যাণ পার্টির চেয়ারম্যান সৈয়দ মুহাম্মদ ইবরাহিম প্রমুখ শ্রদ্ধা জানান। শহীদ সেনাকর্মকর্তাদের মধ্যে বেশ কয়েকজনের পরিবারের সদস্যরা এসেছিলেন গতকাল সকালে। মেজর কাজী মোসাদ্দেক হোসেনের বোন লাকী সারওয়ার এসেছিলেন। সঙ্গে ছিল মোসাদ্দেকের মেয়ে। লাকী সারওয়ার বলেন, এ দিনের কথা কেউ ভুলবে না। ৫৭ জন শহীদ হয়েছেন। এ দিনটি যেন যথাযোগ্যভাবে ভবিষ্যতেও পালন করা হয় সে দাবি জানান তিনি। মেজর মিজানুর রহমানের ছেলে রামি এসেছিল অন্য স্বজনদের নিয়ে। উচ্চমাধ্যমিকের ছাত্র রামি বলে, তার বাবা শহীদ হওয়ার মাত্র আট মাস আগে মারা যান মা রেবেকা ফারজানা। দুই ছেলেকে নিয়ে বাবা পিলখানাতে ছিলেন। ২৫ ফেব্রুয়ারি সারা রাত ছোট্ট রামি ও তার ভাই বিডিআর জওয়ানদের হাতে বন্দী ছিল। পরদিন তারা ছাড়া পায়। শহীদ বিডিআরের মহাপরিচালক মেজর জেনারেল শাকিল আহমেদের স্ত্রী নাজনীন শাকিলের ভাই আহমেদ সালেহউদ্দীন বলেন, পিলখানা হত্যার শাস্তি দ্রুত কার্যকর চান তাঁরা। এর মধ্যে যেন কোনো রাজনীতি না ঢোকে। শহীদ মেজর মমিনের স্ত্রী সানিয়া নাজনীনের চোখে ঝরছিলো পানি। মেজর আসাদের বড় বোন ও মেয়ে এসেছিল।বাবা মারা যাওয়ার সময় মেয়েটি তিন বছরের ছিল। মেজর ইদ্রিস ইকবালের কবরে দীর্ঘক্ষণ দোয়া পাঠ করতে দেখা যায় তাঁর পরিবারকে। মেজর এস এ এম মামুনুর রহমানের বড় বোন ও মেয়ে কবরে ফুলের তোড়া রেখে যান।

Offer Title: Real Estate loses Tk 36cr a day for blockade
Offer Details: DHAKA: Leaders of the county`s real estate sector called upon all political parties Wednesday to save the country`s vital industry from catastrophe as the sector has already counted Tk 792 crore in losses for the last 23 days of blockade. Besides, the sector has been suffering a loss of Tk 36 crore everyday since the beginning of nationwide blockade. Real Estate & Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) revealed a report with the estimate at a press conference in city’s National Press Club on Wednesday afternoon. According to the report, the total amount of loss in last 23 days of the ongoing blockade, starting from January 5, is Tk 792 crore. REHAB general secretary M Wahiduzzaman, in the written statement, said that movements like blockade should be avoided for life and livelihood. However, a recent report of Bangladesh Insurance Association (BIA) said that the country’s entire economy has been suffering a loss of Tk 1,600 crore everyday due to the blockade. Offer Details: ফেসবুক কি তার আকর্ষণ হারিয়ে ফেলছে? অন্তত তরুণেরা আর ফেসবুকে কোনো আকর্ষণ খুঁজে পাচ্ছেন না। মার্কিন প্রযুক্তি বিশ্লেষকেরা বলছেন, মা-বাবা, দাদা-দাদিদের সংখ্যা ফেসবুকে বাড়ছে। যুক্তরাষ্ট্রেই তরুণদের কাছে দ্রুত অজনপ্রিয় হয়ে উঠছে সামাজিক যোগাযোগের সাইটটি। গত সোমবার তথ্য গবেষণা প্রতিষ্ঠান ইমার্কেটার এক প্রতিবেদনে এ তথ্য জানায়। ইমার্কেটার বলছে, ফেসবুক ও ফেসবুকের মালিকানাধীন ইনস্টাগ্রামের তুলনায় স্ন্যাপচ্যাট বেশি টানছে তরুণদের। তবে এখনো যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে ফেসবুক ব্যবহারকারী বাড়ছে। এর কারণ হচ্ছে, বয়স্ক ব্যক্তিরা ফেসবুক ব্যবহার করছেন বেশি। অথচ দীর্ঘ সময় ধরে ফেসবুকের মূল ব্যবহারকারী ছিলেন তরুণেরা। ইমার্কেটারের ওই প্রতিবেদনে তরুণদের আকর্ষণ ও ধরে রাখতে ফেসবুকের সমস্যার বিষয়টি উঠে এসেছে। গবেষণা প্রতিষ্ঠানটির পূর্বাভাস অনুযায়ী, যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে এ বছর ১৮ থেকে ২৪ বছর বয়সীদের ফেসবুক ব্যবহার ৫ দশমিক ৮ শতাংশ কমবে। ১২ থেকে ১৭ বছর বয়সীদের ক্ষেত্রেও ফেসবুক ব্যবহার কমতে দেখা যাবে। ২০১৯ থেকে ২০২০ সাল পর্যন্ত এ ধারা অব্যাহত থাকবে। সব মিলিয়ে ২৫ বছরের কম বয়সী ২০ লাখ ব্যবহারকারী হারাবে ফেসবুক। এতে সুবিধা হবে স্ন্যাপচ্যাট ও ইনস্টাগ্রামের। ২০১৮ সালে স্ন্যাপচ্যাটে ১৯ লাখ ব্যবহারকারী বাড়বে। ইনস্টাগ্রামে বাড়বে ১৬ লাখ। বার্তা পাঠানোর পর তা স্বয়ংক্রিয়ভাবে মুছে যাওয়ার প্ল্যাটফর্ম স্ন্যাপচ্যাটে ১২ থেকে ২৪ বছর বয়সীদের আগ্রহ ইনস্টাগ্রামের চেয়ে বেশি থাকবে। তবে সব বয়সী ব্যবহারকারীদের কাছে পৌঁছানোর ক্ষেত্রে ফেসবুকের মতো সমস্যায় পড়তে হবে স্ন্যাপচ্যাটকে। ইমার্কেটারের বিশ্লেষক ডেবরা আহো উইলিয়ামসন বলেন, স্ন্যাপচ্যাটের নকশা বদল করে ব্যবহার সহজ করা হচ্ছে। সব বয়সী ব্যবহারকারী বাড়াতে এ পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হলে তরুণদের আগ্রহ ধরে রাখার সমস্যায় পড়তে হবে স্ন্যাপচ্যাটকে। ফেসবুক বর্তমানে এ সমস্যায় আছে। যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে ফেসবুক এখনো সবচেয়ে জনপ্রিয় সাইট। ১৬ কোটি ৯৫ লাখ ব্যবহারকারী রয়েছে সেখানে। ইমার্কেটারের পূর্বাভাস অনুযায়ী, এ বছর ইনস্টাগ্রাম ব্যবহারকারী দাঁড়াবে ১০ কোটি ৪৭ লাখ আর স্ন্যাপচ্যাট ব্যবহারকারী দাঁড়াবে ৮ কোটি ৬৫ লাখে। গত বছরে ইমার্কেটার পূর্বাভাস দিয়েছিল, এ বছর প্রথমবারের মতো তরুণদের মধ্যে ফেসবুক ব্যবহারকারী কমতে দেখা যাবে। গত বছরে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের বিনিয়োগকারী প্রতিষ্ঠান পাইপার জাফরি বলেছিল, যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের তরুণদের মধ্যে সবচেয়ে জনপ্রিয় সামাজিক যোগাযোগের সাইট স্ন্যাপচ্যাট। ৪৭ শতাংশ ব্যবহারকারী এ প্ল্যাটফর্মটি ব্যবহার করে।

Chief scientific officer and head of Vegetable Departmental of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) Dr Golam Morshed Abdul Halim told banglanews that becoming third in the ranking of producing vegetable, it is a great success for Bangladesh. But in vegetable intake, Bangladesh ranked in lower level. To improve the situation, vegetable intake habit of people has to be changed, he added. Dr Golam Morshed Abdul Halim also said that 35 percent of the vegetable is wasted in the country. Pro-Vice Chancellor of Shere Bangla Agricultural University said, ‘We produce a lot, but we don’t get to eat. How do we enjoy success in producing vegetable then? We need to increase awareness about taking vegetable.’ He also opined that the amount of cultivation and cultivable land must be increased as well. Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) has informed that in the fiscal year of 2015-16, the government has set target the production of 143,47,000 Metric tons of vegetable from the 8.05 lakh hector cultivable land. DAE source further said right now more than 150 types of vegetables are being cultivated in Bangladesh. The Agronomists’ opined that beside expanding research over different varieties of vegetables, new types of vegetables should be spread to the farmers. Agronomist Dr. G Halim said, “We mostly concentrate over taking meat, fish and other non-vegetarian food. We ignore that the vegetable is an important factor for the health as well.
