The coldest temperature this morning was -6C (21F) at Loch Glascarnoch in the Scottish Highlands, after a weekend that brought unseasonably mild temperatures on Saturday, including 13.9C (57F) to Cardiff.
The top wind speed recorded yesterday was 82mph – at Berry Head in Devon, followed by Orlock Head in County Down, Northern Ireland, at 71mph.
Sarah Kent, of the Met Office, said: `We`ve got cold weather throughout the UK for most of the week. On Tuesday, there will be sub-zero temperatures, with a cold start to the day for southern and central England.
`Many places further north will see temperatures a little below freezing. By the afternoon, there will be a low-pressure system moving along the English Channel and, wrapped around that, an area of rain.

Offer Details: লাউয়াছড়া জাতীয় উদ্যানে নতুন অতিথি! এরই মধ্যে একাধিক গরু মেরে নিজের উপস্থিতি জানান দিয়েছে সে। কে সেই নতুন অতিথি তা নিয়ে চলছে নানা রকম বিশ্লেষণ। স্থানীয়দের ভাষ্যে প্রাণীটির নাম- ‘রাম কুত্তা’। দুই একজন তো নিজ চোখে দেখেছেন বলে জানালেন। অনেকেই বন্য কুকুরটির ডাক শুনেছেন বলেও জানিয়েছেন বাংলানিউজকে। লাউয়াছড়া জাতীয় উদ্যানের পশ্চিম বাগমারা এলাকার কৃষক ফারুক। চলতি মাসে তার একটি গরু মারা গেলে আলোচনায় আসে রাম কুত্তার নাম। এলাকার গরু-ছাগল বনের ভিতর উন্মুক্তভাবে বিচরণ করে। সন্ধ্যায় গরুর পাল নিজে নিজেই বাড়ি ফিরে আসে। ফারুক মিয়া অন্যান্য দিনের মতো ০৮ ফেব্রুয়ারিতেও নিজের গরুটিকে বনের ভিতর ছেড়ে দেন। সন্ধ্যায় গরুটি ফিরে না এলে চিন্তিত হয়ে পড়েন তিনি। নানান জায়গায় খোঁজ করতে থাকেন। পরের দিন সন্ধ্যায় এক বনকর্মী গরুটিকে বনের ভিতর পড়ে থাকতে দেখে ফারুক মিয়াকে খবর দেন।
